Victory Garden
Victory

The Victory Garden consists of 30 raised fruit and vegetable beds that the Bedwell students are instrumental in preparing, planting and maintaining each year.  Throughout the winter months, third and fourth grade students along with Bedwell staff and parent volunteers, plant many of the vegetables from seed. In April, during Earth Week, students clean and prepare the garden beds. The seedlings are then planted into the beds and maintained throughout the summer and fall months by the students.  Produce gathered from the garden is used to supplement the Bedwell cafeteria during the school year and, during the summer months, is placed on a vegetable cart in the front courtyard of the building for parents and local residents to take and use on a donation basis.
